PAUL O'GRADY IN HIS OWN WORDS Interview By Sue Carroll IT SEEMED like a good idea at the time.

In 1977 I married my best friend Theresa - a very religious Portuguese girl and a lesbian.

Perfect, then.

We worked together in The Showcase, a club in Westbourne Grove, London, where we earned £4 a night behind the bar.

By day I was working as a physiotherapy assistant in the Royal Northern Hospital and she was a chambermaid at a London hotel.

Theresa's only problem in life - apart from the fact that, like me, she was always skint - was her mother.

And boy, was that a problem.

She was an extremely strict and religious woman who harboured only one ambition: to see her daughter get married and have children.

Poor Theresa.

The family were on at her constantly and one day she came back from a weekend totally drained by the relentless nagging.

So I said: "B****r it, I'll marry you." I appreciate this isn't what normal, sane people do but I didn't have anything to lose.

said Monday its 2006 sales would be between $2.81 billion and $2.95 billion, reflecting the biomedical company's recent acquisition of Inamed Corp.Irvine, Calif.-based Allergan maintained its previous guidance for full-year 2006 earnings per share of $3.56 to $3.62, including expected stock-option expenses of 20 cents per share.Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial estimate full-year earnings per share of $3.56 on revenue of $2.76 billion.Allergan completed its $3.2 billion takeover of Inamed last week.

Inamed makes a range of "dermal filler" products used to smooth wrinkles that Allergan sees as a complement to its market-leading Botox antiwrinkle treatment.Inamed also makes saline and silicone breast implants.

Allergan intends to retain virtually all of Inamed's sales force, Allergan management said during a conference call with Wall Street analysts Monday.For the year, Allergan said its pharmaceutical sales would generate between $2.45 billion and $2.54 billion in sales, excluding the revenues from products acquired by its takeover of Inamed.The company pegged Botox sales between $870 million and $905 million,...
